What do people see in these forums? They're slow to load, clunky to use,
the interface is determined by the operator, they don't thread properly.

millions of posts are easy to read and occasionally i get in the mood to
fire a bunch of posts off. it's fun!

happy thanksgiving everyone. give thanks for the things you have in your
life.

That's a contradiction right there. Millions of posts, by their very
number, cannot be easy to read.

And nope, I don't see the fun. You get a page with 50 topics, then have
to load another slow page for the next 50. Or click on a topic and wait
ages for it to load upto 20 in the thread. Frustrating me thinks.

Each to their own and all that, I was just curious. Compared to usenet,
they're a pain to use.

Those message boards are fine if you are under 21.

kinda true...just trying to point out the ones I know offhand. I don't
really use snowboard.com much for discussion, but I am registered on
their website (w/ profile).

anyway yeah I'm 21 + 9 so I feel ya. but some of my buddies of legal
drinking age run the last one and it's not too bad at all if you're in
CA. they're still working the kinks out, getting enough bandwidth and
all that but it's pretty smooth.
