Default Off-Piste in Engelberg?

Has anyone here done any off-piste in Engelberg/Titlis?
I have been to Engelberg twice before, a few years ago, when I was a
total novice, however, now all I want is freshies and was wondering if
anyone could give me a tip or two?

I heard a rumoured that there is some marked off piste, which has been
checked against avalanches etc?

I know the area is well known for avalanches etc, so I would l;ike to
be sensible about it. I might also hire a guide for a day while I am
there!
If anyone knows of a good local guide, that will also be appreciated!

Thanks

Just back from a week there with the Ski Club enjoying some incredible
conditions (snorkel snow :-). Certainly lots of off piste on both sides of
the valley (don't ignore Brunni just because it is relatively low). There
aren't any off-piste itineraries protected from avalanche risk and there is
plenty of potential for risk from avalanches and crevasses.

Roger and Freddy - local guides working for Rock and Powder are THOROUGHLY
recommended.

Well all I can hope is there is some left for me next month, I went last
year, did not leave the hotel for a week ,not even to get a pass or hire
some planks, total white out from the moment I arrived to the moment I left.
I am going back just to prove to myself, that it was not personal.Still
there were some interesting venues on the way back in Lucerne but I wont go
into that now.
take care

You don't get snorkel snow without whiteout conditions (unless you are
incredibly lucky and it only snows at night)! During the week I was there
there were a lot of skiers with your attitude and the place was lovely and
quiet while we were enjoying all the powder:-)

When conditions get really bad stay in the trees (n.b. at Engelberg most of
the woods are nature reserves so you can't actually ski through them but
there is plenty of skiing by them at Brunni).
