It' a 2 hr. drive. Bring some beers.

2 hours DIA to Vail? I think it's a bit more than that?

Weell, it was only about 90 min D to V in a cheapest rental rattle trap
microcar I could find when I last did it, direct shot at dawn. IIRC, it
was about 30 min DIA to D where I stayed for a nephew's wedding, which
makes it a flat 2 hrs DIA to V, so I'd say pigo has over alloted.

Nothing here is to be construed as implying Vail was worth this amount
of effort. Disclaimers apply.

I doubt it. I'm sure he was counting time all the way to a parking
spot and then walking to the mountain. Ever get behind someone
without cash when you are trying to leave the ramps? Thats another
half hour. PIA.

Last time I went, I left my car in the ramp in such a hurry that I
forgot where I had parked exactly. Big mistake. Think of the
Seinfeld parking lot episode - but with ski boots.

I finally found it when I heard my friend Terry belch loudly. He was
drinking beer on the bumper down a couple of rows and around the bend.

I hear that Vail will sell you your own spot with a flag so you can
find it for 100 large. Makes sense, since some numbskull never fails
to utter the words vail is, "Its the best" or

"Vail is the best" during a visit. No matter how short.

It's not worth the money either.

But I had to drive people around, check them in and take them their
accomodations. Sometimes there were 3-4 different groups. I know what
the **** I'm talking about. One time it took days to get back to town
because of storms and road closures. Was I suppose to average that
into my estimate?

Jeeeeezzzzus H. Cristos!!!!!

Isn't that the beauty of having a driver? Your free to have some
beers on the way up. Quite often pax wanted to stop for beers but I
couldn't do that unless the whole bus agreed. But when they had 'em
they were welcome to drink 'em. What's wrong with that?

It could have been that the clock in my Colorado Mountain Express van was
wrong while I was driving it. But it said, generally, 2 hrs. That's
without traffic. I was a night driver so I usually missed traffic.

I seem to remember it being about that to Summit, was there a faster way
from Denver to Vail? or maybe it was faster to Summit and I just thought it
was longer from jetlag.

Purely depends on traffic. I have made it from my house to the parking
lot in Breckenridge in 40 minutes.

I should have added also that I can make it from DIA to my house in
15-20 minutes, depending on time of day. His numbers are realistic to me.

Maybe the time you went it was? There are pick ups and drop offs to
deal with too. It's just the rough figure we gave to people when they
asked, an estimate. It was easy to swing 1/2 hour either way. I'd
bring beer.
