Default OEC Test for NSP

My class of 15 is two weeks away from completing the OEC course.

The practical and written tests are coming up and we would sincerely
appreciate any help, guidance, previous study guides, gouge on this
year's written/practical scenarios, etc...

If any recent or even past patrollers/candidates would care to assist
us, please contact me via this board or directly at:
bkspublic-at-yahoo-com

Thanks!

The writtens aren't that hard - IF you've been paying attention in class, If
you've been reading tha manual and doing the sample quizzes, and if you have
some common sense.
For the practicals, Practice, practice and more practice is the only thing
that will help. The more hands on you do the more comfortable you will get.
Get together with some other students and run full scenarios, approach all
the way thru to hand off to higher level of care. Critique each other. Don't
TELL each other "I would splint this now" - splint it. Don't say "I would
take vitals now" - take them. Don't describe your note to the doctor, write
it. If you feel yourself choking, take a deep breath, repeat A-B-C-D to
yourself and think about where you are in the process. If you've missed a
step go back. Its better to do it late and demonstrate you know it than miss
it completely. Some instructors I had didn't mind parting with previous
years marking sheets, your milage may vary. Beer helps. (as a bribe for
marking sheets, not with your testing.)
Good Luck.
