Late bloomer.

10 year old kids may do it for its fearless and stupidity. The real
question is can you do it now? Yes, let's see it.

You almost make me think you're serious. But really, now, that's a
pretty wimpy slope AND the skier is standing upright with arms
outstretched, so wind drag makes it impossibly to pick up much speed.

"Wind drag" slows down the gravity acceleration? Fancy.

Wind drag doesn't "slow down" "gravity acceleration", because there is
no such thing. There is force exerted by gravity and in the absence of
any opposing force it accelerates objects at the same rate: 9.8m/s/s.

But there are a couple of opposing forces. The friction of skis on snow,
and as you gain speed, drag due to moving through the air creates an
opposing force; resulting in a maximum velocity being reached where the
snow friction and air drag precisely equals the component of gravity
that is in the direction of the slope.

And now you finally know one small fact about skiing.

Try tucking to enjoy a fall line schuss. Also try a steeper slope.

That would be a different run, wouldn't it?

Once again, there are no moguls in that run.

I can do it on one leg.

You only think you can, but no, don't think that you can
track a "straight line" on two legs, let alone one leg.

What you think is irrelevant. In fact, there's very little

As a cameraman, I suppose to keep the lead skier in the picture, and
when I formation ski with someone as a "wingman," I usually duplicate
the lead skier's every move, so, when he spun I followed suit and not
realizing I was holding the camera.

Gapper troll,
IS

Is that how you spend your days on the slopes ? It's almost as if you
spend more time going horizontal to the ''fall-line'' then you do
actually going down it.

Ahh, got one, that's quick.

No, we go down the fall-line as well,http://www.taomartialarts.com/ski/sk...ghtliningl.wmv

IS

LoL...Okaaaayyyy, and now please explain how holding your arms
horizontally and sticking your skis together and pointing them down
the hill is unique and remarkable in ANY context whatsoever ?

Yes, it is called go down the fall-line."

As opposed to Chai Tea skiing ? *Nothing special about pointing your
skis down the hill and "making french fries"...It's just not a big
deal...sorry to inject that reality into your fantasy-filled ego-trip.

Sorry for your conceited little knowledge. The big deal is that modern
[edge based] skiing cannot track a "straight line." So, it is really
big deal to see if you can do it.

What so funny,

You.

Yup, if you don't laugh, I'm not real.

can you do it?

Yes, IS, I can...and so can nearly any fool on a pair of skis.
IT'S NOT SPECIAL.

Not until you can prove it, (video clips?), a gapper's "can" remains a
gapper's assessment--a "can" of worms.

IS

The fact that you are honestly purporting that a man skiing in a
straight line for a few hundred meters on a groomed snoozer speaks to
your skill level.

Going in a straight line requires no skill at 8,9, 29 or 49 years
old. Sorry IS...that's called reality.
The fact that you defend that video as proof of advanced skiing
technique or talent reveals just how mediocre you are on skis.

We do have a kid here (not that I haven't figured it out earlier);
nevertheless, don't think you can do it now. Clips? (What, no clips?
That's what makes a gapper.)

Congratulations on revealing your inadequacy on skis. Going in a
straight line on a groomed snoozer requires precisely zero skill at
8,9, 29 or 49 years old. Sorry IS...that's called reality. We are
"gappers" cuz we don't post videos of us doing easy, snoozer runs ?
Sorry IS, we're not that desperate for approval.

If you call what what you do "realizing your full potential"...then I
sympathize. From everything I've seen (and virtually everyone in here
agrees), the things you do on skis are boring and mediocre at best.
No challenge whatsoever to anything you do. If you are content with
endlessly tweaking your ''style'', rather than actually go down some
stuff with even moderate difficulty, then by all means continue. You
have a very shallow and empty life IS. Desperately trying to prove
your worth on skis to a group of Usenet people (who you label as
gappers, hardly up to your intellectual / spiritual caliber) in vain.
Why would you continue to preach to a group of people who have
overwhelmingly rejected everything you say ? It speaks to a horribly
lost and sad person behind the arrogant and egotistic persona who
carry in here. I feel sorry for you...and every poor soul you
convince to record your boring movements. No amount of pseudo-Zen /
Tao verbage can rescue you from the reality that you are (at best) an
advanced-intermediate skier, who weaves a fantasy world around himself
with videos from his home mountain.
