I too have noticed this (see a previous thread on Burton's website, if I
recall). I noticed Ride's website is very light on this stuff...and for that I'm very happy. but they still use javascript popups for links and to me that's a no no. I'd never design a site that way, because I don't expect a user to want to navigate a site that way. bri Jason Medeiros wrote: please pass this info along to all your friendly favorite snowsports sites? why the heck do all these ski/board/gear manufacturers use flash like crazy? my firefox browser just says NO to this crap. ok, done venting. snow! -- * enjoying the karma * remove LKJSDFJSD from address to email |

Why html was developed or w3c came into being we'll never know - there's evidently no reason to take things further and move on. All this new development stuff must be worthless. A bit like blues into rock, dictatorship into democracy, surfing into snowboarding . What a waste of time. Who needs the next level when we've got what we've got? DB |

It's just that designers can't refrain from creating unusable sites using its features :/ Flash has never really bothered me much as far as websites are concerned. As long as the designer keeps the file size to a minimum, the time to download isn't all that much. What bugs me most of the time is when a designer comes up with really pretty page (whether flash or not), but forgets that it also has to function smoothly also. As for Javascript, some of the features of it are invaluable to those of us who set up or run merchant sites, but some of the most used aspects of it are the annoying ones. Rick BTW, I use Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird exclusively and have never had any issues with them at all. I highly recommend them. |

Who needs the next level when we've got what we've got? not saying that. i'm all for tech and the benes we get from it. thinking 'outside the box' is a good thing too. as for flash, if we used it in moderation, that might help things a bit. any site saturated in flash is clunky and irritating (imo) to navigate. -- jmed |

I don't see anything inherently wrong with Flash (tho it is often used badly). Perhaps you should consider a more useful browser? -- Champ |
