I thought you might mean the early freak snow storm they had in Buffalo,
NY! Only 80 miles from me and they got 1/2 to 2 feet of snow last night.
Bad news for electricity though, with the leaves on the trees getting
weighted down, many of them crashed and now half the area is without
electricity.

Oh man!
I live only 230km away from all that, while I've never seen an XC skier in
person.
Been trying to ask an ex-rollerskiing friend and even the local club, but no
responses to carpool offers.
I just bought a crappy 2nd hand car, not sure I trust it enough for such a
trip yet.

Who's going?
Anyone know if it doable to find parking and an entrance ticket? The course
seems tiny...

Nope. We have a problem for this coming season. I can watch them on the small screen but can't record, and that picture wouldn't be much use to us for our studies anyway.

We need someone with the ability to record the program properly, to do what needs to be done to transfer it to a torrent tracker and then to tell us which tracker. That person would have to be in the Euro Land area.

gee. I just left there after 6 weeks and I didn't notice any change in
Eurosport in my town. Maybe there was something sublte but there were
lots of international stuff still coming, all på svenska.

Does anyone know if
Janne or someone else is going to capture these races so us North
Americans can watch them?

I understand that Janne does not have access to eurosport channel any
more. I do not have the equipment to do the recording and upload to a
server as does he unfortunately (as well as not being in Sweden during
the fall season)

Vasalopps are different; they are broadcast on sverige tv. you will
probably be able to see some of that at svt.se but probably only highlights?

Correct, it makes for some spectacular racing.
The thinking behind the short course sprinting, on skis and on rollskis, was to encourage the younger skiers
with the fast twitch muscles who at that age hadnt yet developed the endurance and stamina needed for the
adult distance races.
Hopefully it would have attracted the bright youngsters with their street cred, the glamour and their loud music. As you see in the city centre jumping and boarding events.
Oddly that hasnt yet happened. We've found that the 'younger' established WC racers have the power to cope with the shoulder to shoulder fighting and have the tactical skills to cope with the brutal hairpin bends
and final totheline sprints.
