Default Alta Sued Over Snowboard Ban

Four snowboarders and Wasatch Equality, a Utah non-profit corporation
whose stated mission is to open all ski areas operating on public land
to snowboarding, filed a lawsuit today in the United States District
Court for the District of Utah against Alta Ski Area and the U.S. Forest
Service, seeking a permanent injunction to prevent Alta from enforcing
its snowboarding ban.

The Plaintiffs also seek a declaration from the Court that Alta’s
snowboarding prohibition, as enforced by the Forest Service, violates
the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution and is
therefore unlawful.

Pigo bailed from the sport just in time. He won't have anywhere to ski now.

So they're admitting that boarders should be a protected minority just
like the members of other handicapped classes?

What about wheelchairs? Should they be allowed on the slopes too?

I wish somebody had shot that jerk before he invented that "There oughta
be a law" slogan.

Can you explain to me why 99% isn't enough? Why you can't leave a couple of areas for people that know how to ski and know the difference?

Why stop there? Shouldn't dirt bikes be allowed on the slopes?

Powder skiing is not a sport it is a recreational activity, ski racing
is a sport.

Well, maybe, if they have studded tires.

Sport (or sports) is all forms of usually competitive physical activity which,
through casual or organised participation, aim to use, maintain or improve
physical ability and skills while providing entertainment to participants, and
in some cases, spectators.

It is not a sport as hard as you try it is still not a sport.
It is just a physical activity it might be useful to improve some skills
but does not make it a sport.
& powder skiing is not competitive lets us be real
