Default what are the resorts doing for season pass holders.

Places like Crystal WA. didn't have the whole mountain open even before the
washout.
there was maybe three weeks with limited lifts and half a mountain .
at this point unless there's a couple of real big dumps and like sooooooon
this years shot.

so a collective question to those of ya'll that might have gone through
this before.
just what sort of threats to these cheap bastids might work for some comp.
on a hopefull next season pass.

I assume you offered to pay a suppliment when it turned out last season
was so good? Did they take you up on your offer, or explain that it's a
crapshoot; that no suppliment was expected for good years?

Always a gamble, for them and for you.

You would get a lot further with a lot less attitude.

They do not create the weather. They are a business, not a charity for
people who don't like to pay for things.

Try an indoor sport if you want guaranteed weather conditions.

You may see some break on next year's pass, if you ask the right way.

Happy trails,

I think the reality is that ski areas don't have huge margins. What
they want is one thing; what they can do is another. It does cost them
to offer you a special deal on next year's pass. It means either lost
revenue, or more people on the hill -- thus lower customer satisfaction.
I've been skunked and left holding a pass in a bad snow year, too, so
I know how you feel...but it's skiing, and everything is always subject
to conditions. We make our plans, and all we can ever do is hope.

Well Crystal was open today 2/19 - good skiing in the morning on West Face,
but it got skied out fast - no snow predicted for this coming week either -
Lots of talk about discounts in the lift line - estimate was that only 1 of
10 was paying today - passes and coupons - not many signed up for lessons
either, most of the instructors were just skiing

Think about skiing till they close - usually a dump or two in April and
nobody on the mountain
