Alta-Snowbird Interconnect
Does interconnect (at Alta) refer to a road, a trail or to the lift
served areas of Mineral Basin, or all of the above. I notice from some discussion last year that while nice in theory, the interconnect through Mineral Basin is often shut down because of weather. How often did this happen last year? Has anything changed for the 2005-2006 season to make this easier / more reliable? Can anyone confirm that the Alta Snowbird One Ticket include the Snowbird tram or is that extra? I'm working on a package deal and want to make sure up front. Thanks -- Tom |

It's just a left turn off the Sugarloaf lift; you drop right into Mineral Basin. If there weren't signs and an attendant you would think it was just more inbounds terrain. Paying extra for an interconnect ticket is a waste of money. Also, you can get anywhere you want at Snowbird via the chairs, paying extra for the tram ticket is a waste of money, unless you enjoy being packed into a flying bus cheek by jowel with 124 other people. //Walt |
