what a pathetic group

It amazes me how 1 defunct individual can disrupt and control an entire newsgroup of people . I have added Scott to my
blocked list a long time ago but 90 % of the posts I read here still have something to do with a reply or comment about him
anyway . It's so not funny anymore and a complete waste of time . It's obviously impossible to get people not to respond to
him or egg him on so I see no hope for this pathetic situation . I never would have believed that 1 person could completely
control an entire internet of people but he has won . He is getting more attention than he could possible know what to do
with . For the small amount of good information that you do get on here it simply isn't worth it . So to summarize , this
group sucks .

It seems to me that you can eliminate about 90% of the 90% by simply
Kill Filtering about 4 or 5 specific posters.

You may killfile me immediately. I know very little about alpine skiing
as I am a snowboarder. I have been fortunate to meet some very nice
people through this group though.

Here's my take. Scott is an obnoxious blowhard. He can't stand being
ignored, and ignoring him only makes him more obnoxious and outrageous.

I don't claim to be doing a public serve here, what I'm doing is
entertaining myself. But, if ignored, Scott begins to barge into every
ontopic thread getting progressively more obscene and obnoxious. Like
a spoiled 5 year old.

By bantering around, at least it keeps him a little occupied and he has
less motivation to get into the eqiupement threads. But again, have you
ever seen what he does when he's ignored?

He is unemployed and totally fixated on usenet. He's another Mike
Vand**man. He's not going away and he's not getting better. Yours is
easily the 50th post like this. I understand you frustration, and I
know what his response is going to be. It'll be his standard boiler
plate (but freshly typed) screed.

It seems that all healthy newsgroups have one or more resident idiots. For
example, look for James Harris on sci.math. He is convinced that all
professional mathematicians have hatched a conspiracy against him because
they point out the errors in his postings about prime numbers, Fermat's Last
Theorem, and algebraic integers. Sometimes he sounds amazingly like Scott,
which leads me to believe that they might share some organic brain feature
or personality-development experience. Lately he has started attacking
people on copyright grounds. (Does that sound familiar?) For some reason
he often spills over into sci.physics, which already has a full cast of
distracting loons (google on God=guv, for instance).
