Snowforcasting
Hints and tips on snow forcasting please!
Specifically: I am hoping to ski in kitzbuhel, Austria on the 23 March. Flights already booked, but I have left the accomidation, I am planning to book as late as possible to ensure good snow conditions. What I am wondering is how early before my departure date I could book (to ensure good conditions). I have found a 3 day forcast for the area www.snow-forecast.com but booking the accomidation just 3days before seems to be cutting it a little fine. I was thinking that if the weather looked good 1 week before i would go for it, is that a sensible balance. snow-forcast seems like a great site, do people know of other good snow forcasting places? Thanks -- Kyle |

The longest forecast I've seen is on the weather channel www.weather.co.uk - it can take a bit of effort to find them, but there should be 10 day forecasts with predicted ski conditions for the major resorts via the sports tab. -- Paul Schofield Time flies like an arrow Fruit flies like a banana |

I have found a 3 day forcast for the area www.snow-forecast.com but booking the accomidation just 3days before seems I'd not be deeply concerned for that date, there's nothing particularly special going on. When I lived in Southern Germany I didn't make reservations until the morning we left, or when I arrived on a couple of trips. to be cutting it a little fine. I was thinking that if the weather looked good 1 week before i would go for it, is that a sensible balance. snow-forcast seems like a great site, do people know of other good snow forcasting places? oh god... now you've started it, it'll all kick off shortly :-) |

Noooo... I don't think we've had that discussion for a while now, but new weather sites don't pop up like thunderstorms, so once or twice a year is probably enough. You could search Google Groups for the accumulated drifts of wisdom. And the depth hoar of popular misconception, and the hardpack of things "everyone knows" and the missing inches of thoughts that blew away in the night. Hey, I like this analogy! -- Sue ];(= |

k, you've already found a great site, www.snow-forecast.com. For only £3.50
on a credit card you can sign up for a month and get good 6 day forecasts. That's what I did before going to chamonix last month... "Sue" wrote in message ...
