Necessary to get new bindings checked?

I just bought a Volkl 81ATM. The binding just slide on and fasten with a screw (though they don't give instructions, to try and stop you from doing it...).

Is it necessary to get them checked, or...

Where would you go from Sedona AZ?

What is a reasonable compromise between travel time and great skiing? Something more than Arizona Snowbowl. I happen to like groomed trails, so the amount they do is an important factor also.
Thanks.

Telluride?

Angel Fire is 8 hours, so it is going in the wrong direction!

Brian's Head might be a better choice though, it is only 5 hours.

Around here we ski on ice. I wouldn't consider going out without a helmet because a fall has a real chance of smashing your head on essentially rock.

But I am going to Colorado in April. Is a...

Beaver Creek?!

Obviously I don't know much about this, but it's been 35 years since I was above 8500'. Seems to me that it might be prudent to go someplace that is not terribly high.

Turns out a one way rental is absurdly expensive, so I guess that leaves flying into SLC, renting a car, skiing, driving to Moab, and back to SLC.

I will have more questions in a months or two.

I...
