Blizzard conditions in Bourg St Maurice (800m) at the moment :o)
Tignes was still open down to Val Claret yesterday, and conditions should be great this weekend (full sun promised for Saturday). Pete |

Top man, flying out Friday for 3 days of skiing in Val D'Isere :) Better in Tignes, cover was still thin in Val Saturday and low cloud is forecast, followed by snow above 1800/2000 for the next few days. Hope you managed to get some skiing in, my daughter's club went up to Tignes this morning (Sunday) and visibility was so poor they decided to play rugby instead! (I did suggest to her trainer that the French need all the rugby practice they can get ;o) Pete |

Pete Love it! Going to Les Arcs in Jan and I hope it's non stop snow till then!!! Not quite, if it snows non stop until January avalanche risk will be far greater than 1999 (Galtur etc) and all the resorts will be shut. Lets just hope for plenty of snow till then! (I'm off to Tignes in Jan) True, much better for a good base to build up, then a bit of freeze-thaw to consolidate. Then maybe a few nice days of sun just before you go to cheer up all the resort staff and then a whacking great fall the night you arrive which closes all roads from the valley... well, it could happen. |
