View Full Version : skiing after a broken achilles

Last year I snapped my achilles (playing soccer) which was put back
together, and I can now walk and trot about with no problem. However
I tried a pair of walking boots recently that came up the back of the
heel and these were very painful where they touched the back of my
leg.

So, are there folk out there who have boots that allow them to ski
sucessfully after an Achilles repair? Is it a question of finding the
right boot or adjusting them so that I could ski in the future? or is
it a no no?

If I was confident that I could do this again after a few years, I
would train and target a trip at the end of 2004. I have skied in the
past but years ago..

Otherwise I guess I will be doing the cooking and cleaning in the
Chalet while the family do the skiing.

I realise I could try a few boots in a shop, but would prefer to ask
the communuty first for their views and what to look for..

Any advice / experience?

Thanks,
Eric
