Did anybody hear that Carly Simon is going to finally reveal who "You're
So Vain" is about? Sold for $50K at a charity auction to the president
of NBC sports.

I always heard it was Joe Namath.

Nah. I still don't have any idea why she wrote that song about me, but
I've known all along it's about me.

It's already known: Warren Beatty.

But I also heard the guy isn't going to tell anyone else. Oh well.

She has denied that many times.

She's already said it's about every man she's ever known.

Then HE can sell it on ebay. Will the price increase or decrease with
time?

Sonny Bono.
Oh, wait, she said "Vain", not "Brained". Sorry.

Maybe it was Jean-Claude Killy?

I'll save him the trouble ...
It's about Jerry Moonbeam Brown, the last Great Statesman.

BTW, Bev - get ready for the Pasadena Craftsman fair Oct 3-5. You too
can spend money for beautiful handcrafted items you don't need and have
no room for. I was down your way over the WE and saw a sign.

I also saw your Kennedy Meadows there in the N Mohave off Hwy 14. Right?
OK, I'll vote for motorbrains to tear up the terrain around there if
they will promise to never come north of Manzanar; not even with noise
of stink. Deal?

In retrospect, wasn't he gone a lot of the time? Can we really complain
about that?

Nope, I no longer want to own things that I have to worry about. It's
extraordinarily nice of museums to take care of so much neat stuff so we
won't have to.

> I also saw your Kennedy Meadows there in the N Mohave off Hwy 14. Right?

Wrong. J41 off 395 just north of the Inyo.Kern County border. Near where
the South Fork of the Kern River crosses J41.

Get back to me, you're dealing from the wrong deck.

Dam! There's THREE of them. One up Sonora Pass, one I just saw a sign
pointing to while driving N out of Mojave, and the third which is yours
on J41. Isn't the USGS supposed to manipulate names to avoid this kind
of thing?

I bet the skiing is crappy at all of em, tho. Even up Sonora, since the
road is snow closed about 20 miles earlier, in winter. That's a long
trudge for turns.
