So I've noticed a fair number of handles here of people
who have nothing to do with, nor any interest in skiing.
Now I know Scott has been posting, but please recall that
I, and several others, said that if you continued with
your campaign of trying to limit personal attacks against
yourself that you would draw usenet kooks whose joy in
life it to poke verbally at people and cause grief.
I'm not saying that you were the cause of these "visits",
after all Scott does actually have a bigger draw than
you, but...
My killfile has just grown by leaps and bounds. You are
NOT in it, but your responses to these kooks, mean that
I have to at least open the posts to get them off my
reader.
May I suggest that you, and I and yunlong and others
continue our good natured spat about what constitutes
good/bad/indifferent skiing and let the "visitors" go
home without any satisfaction.

Nah, keep it here out in the open.
And pass the popcorn, it's going to be a long summer.

Yeah, and Walt, please continue with your occasional $0.02.
It's often refreshing and gets a laugh when things get
too serious. And Mary, for pity sake, we need to do
SOMETHING for the summer.
My other activities will be back road biking (on a mountain
bike and some of the "roads" will include fire trails and
logging roads), building yet another addition to my house
and being gainfully employed.
My transportation for the summer will be my classic
Gold Wing motorcycle (classic or old?) when practical and
sometimes when it's not.
Hopefully I can get my canoe out for a bit of flat water
fishing. But probably not.

Most of the recent arrivals are from alt.2600, a hackers newsgroup,
replying to posts that are crossposted between rsa and a26k.
They're here because somebody crossposted to their group. Or another way
to look at it is that we're in their group, even if we have no interest
in hacking.
So, who invited them? (he asks rhetorically, not really expecting a reply)

I expect my summer to consist of competitive sailing, recreational
sailing, low-level kayaking, and mediocre humor. Not bad humor, mind
you, just mediocre. And that's not a threat, just a warning.

Summer?! Spring just arrived today. Enjoyed it with a couple of
VtSkier's friends. We have 5 weeks of Spring skiing to conquer before we
can think of summer.

Oh, good, they made it. I wasn't sure that they would.

I missed part of that. I've crossed posted stuff quite
inadvertently from time to time, hopefully not here, but
maybe. Just because I answered a post that was already
cross-posted.

Naw, it was deliberate; F2F initiated thread "This COTSE thing" cross
posted. Oh well; I believe him to be the perpetrator of an elaborate
troll - how dare he talk about skiing! How preposterous! How trollish!
We have all been taken in.
I should have known - he didn't use a moving, rotating frame of
reference, instead preferring a frame tied to the local gravity
vertical. An obvious troll!

I think you were right the first time. There are two foot2foots here -- one
real and the other a clever forgery, at least as far as headers go. Either
that or we have a case of multiple personality and ought to be able to make

I dunno, haven't been around long enough I guess, But -
Seemed to me for a while there were two F2Fs as well. One seemed rational if
a little longwinded, the other seemed off his meds. But - If there really
were 2 of them, wouldn't the "real" F2F complain about the other one? You'd
think he would notice, wouldn't you?
I can't help wondering if the original F2F has just been absent for a while
and Scooter is forging his posts in order to create this question and answer
farce today. None of this silly **** happened before that guy posted the
message to "lure" Scot back.

Scottie doesn't know how to do this stuff. His buddy has the ability to
learn. But F2F is neither; I think he's just a very mischievous, and
patient, person. I do think he studied Bert's style, so that when he went
into "kook" phase of the troll, he had a good model.

If thats the case I agree with whoever said its like planning 18 months to
phone the grocery store. I wasn't around when Bert was here. Just the whole

Well, imagine if EVERY YEAR, the guy playing Pickett, made the charge

much easier to, um, reenact as many times as you want.

Indeed. I compared the headers of one of each variety of message and could
see nothing odd -- but I probably don't know what to REALLY look for. Can an
entire header be forged?

Maybe he isn't vain/paranoid enough to read his own posts -- I feel compelled
to read my own so I can feel terrible about the occasional typo I make, but

And some yodeling. Oh yeah.
Bev, whatever happened to the faire they used to have in Novato? I
heard it went away. I went to it once, in its waning years, and wrote a
brief account of the experience, or part of it...all about what happens
when you try to create a midway ride along a Renaissance theme and staff
it with a young varlet who's not quite bright enough to manage without
getting injured. It was pretty funny.

Dunno enough to say, but I doubt if the entire thing can be fake, some of it
has to come from somewhere legit. I guess the main question would be are
they identical, and if not, how so? If the source(his computer) and
destination (your computer) of each message are the same, the headers of
each should be substantially the same.

Well, I tell myself its cuz I want to see how it formatted, but truth be
told I doubt theres anyone on Usenet who doesn't like to see their words
displayed. That aside, they would still stand out as unread and you think he
would suspect if the unread ones were in a thread he didn't remember posting
to. Suppose he might have Alzheimer's and thinks he did post them?

Didn't Scot use a bunch of aliases when he was banned? Nah, I just can't
imagine him having anywhere near the patience to be Foot, or anybody else
for that long.

True enough, but I waited a long time to kilfile Scot. Its tough to decide
who is here just to poke Scot and who is doing it casually, and might have
something interesting to say sooner or later. .

No yodeling. NOOOOO yodeling. I think there's a city ordinance against it.
Maybe even ordnance, I wouldn't put it past them.

I don't remember it being in Novato. It was in Calabasas for a while, and
then moved out to somewhere near the junction of I-15 and I-10 -- Glen Helen,
wherever that is. Now it's in Irwindale, home of some of the largest gravel
pits on earth. The bottoms are filled with water, sometimes the same lovely
blue as Lake Louise. I've never been to a RPF, although I did like the two
SCA outings I visited (not in costume).

One was listed as an 'original' and the other was listed as a 'reply',
although both were replies. Other than that, the message numbers and the
paths, they were identical. I think.

I'm a little ashamed (well, not much) to say that I've laughed at posts I made
many years ago. Damn, I was a good writer then. We owe google a lot.

Unlikely -- his memory for the minutiae of skiing is phenomenal. OTOH,
Alzheimer's patients and old people with failing memories can remember old
stuff, but not new stuff.

Just bobaloobob. Maybe one other that was equally transparent. Occasionally
"bob" would mess up and refer to himself as "I" instead of "Scott."

Bull****! LIAR!!2!
I am involved in NO conspiracy.
I post here for a hobby,,like stamp collecting.
It is impossible for me to believe that I am the only one that does
this, in fact I bet they're ALL a bunch of other skiers and stamp
collecters, that've worked through all the complex mental gymnastics,
and realized you are a repetitive B0z0 and deserve to be treated as
such.
Why, when I was on the sauce,,, hey are you drinking full time now
Sc0tchie?
THERE IS NO CONSPIRACY YUO KNOB!!
NONE, NADA, deal with it, and stop lying about me, liar.
You are making yourself more deluded as your excitment and ire rise
Sp0ck, this causes your circular reasoning to be supercharged, a
veritable Tornado of assumptions, self aggrandizing theories,
repressed buffo0neries blended with stupidity, left over ham and a
stolen turkey.
I can't prove I'm not part of a conspiracy Sp0ck, but I can't prove
that there's no UFOs either.

My activities will consist of sitting in air conditioning and waiting
for fall. I plan to leave my air conditioned house, get into my air
conditioned car, drive to my air conditioned office and repeat the
process back to the house. I hate hot weather and bugs - especially
flies, gnats, mosquitos and Scott Abraham.
